I enjoy our patients, and how all our team members are happy to go the extra mile to assist them: whether we’re answering questions, addressing concerns, or providing support, we’re here to help. I handle a variety of tasks that keep our office running smoothly. In addition to accounts receivable and payable, I’m also our insurance manager and referral coordinator. Additionally, I oversee scheduling and marketing.
I’ve been with Gundersen Dental Care since 2005, and have worked in the dental field for more than 15 years. Prior to working in oral healthcare, I was in the medical field, concentrating on Medical DME, Medical billing, and Medical IME. My degree was awarded at Eton College of Technology, in 1999.
My husband and I have been married for 24 years, and we have two sons. My husband is an engineer and a high school soccer coach. I’m a true soccer mom, with my life organized around watching the three men in my life play soccer. My sons are also involved in other sports. When I have the time, I enjoy being with friends, hiking, and lounging on a warm beach.
I like getting to know each of our patients and hearing about their families and interests. I learn so much from them, and appreciate it when they choose to confide in me. My days are spent providing patient care and assisting them during their visits. I sit chairside while Dr. Gundersen performs various dental treatments, ensuring he has everything needed, At the same time, I am concentrating on our patient. I tell them what the doctor is doing, how well everything is going, and offer encouragement if needed.
I’ve been a Certified Dental Assistant since graduating from South Puget Sound Community College in 1990. Each year I take multiple continuing education courses to keep my certification current and because I enjoy learning.
I’ve been happily married for more than 20 years and have three daughters. Away from work, I love spending time with my family and friends. I’m an active volunteer and enjoy camping and bowling, too.
I spend my days working one-on-one with each patient. While I am scaling and polishing their teeth, taking digital films, and administering anesthetic, I talk with them about oral hygiene. It’s important a person understands why they need to keep their mouth healthy, and how to do so. When a patient returns for a recall visit, and I see a healthy smile, I’m thrilled.
I’ve been working as a dental hygienist since 2000, following my graduation from Oregon Health Sciences University with a BS in Dental Hygiene. It’s a joy to provide care that improve the health of our patients, and become friends with them in the process. Working in a practice where my teammates feel like family is equally wonderful.
I live in Tumwater with my husband, daughter and son, and our rescue dog. My free time is spent shuttling my children to various activities, and attempting to sneak in time to relax. I grew up in Oregon and we frequently visit family there.

I am the first person our patients see when they walk in the door. I am the scheduling coordinator and it is my pleasure to make sure our patients are able to be seen and taken care of. Aside from scheduling appointments I assist in many other office tasks. I have a relationship-based personality so I enjoy getting to know all of our patients! My husband and I moved to the Olympia area a year and half ago all the way from Kansas. I enjoy nature and portrait photography and taking my black lab puppy Koda out on the kayak, going camping, and hiking. My husband is not a big hiker so she is my hiking buddy!
